An older kit that could use some updating but overall pretty nice. There are 1/32 resin conversion set from Fisher Model for Trumpeter 1/32 Sky raider but over my budget. Like many kits in the ESCI line, this is a simple build, but it has a great deal of potential in an experienced modeler's hands. The build were kitbashed from the infamous Tamiya A-1 Skyraider and Matchbox vintage AD-5. It’s a bit over the top when it comes to the amount of detail, perhaps, but, unlike some super-kits from other manufacturers, this one works. The A-1J variant which was introduced in 1956 equipped the U.S. Air Force, which employed it as an escort for search and rescue helicopters as well as in the normal ground attack role. It would also splatter across the front of the wing leading edges at the wing root areas. Molded in light gray styrene, this kit is presented on three parts trees plus one tree of clear parts. Absolutely excellent. Let me just add, that if I remember correctly, there was a build using the fuselage of this kit and the wings from the Monogram Skyraider and after some work the model really turned out well Yes, it was done in the magazine here before the Tamiya single seater kit came out IIRC.
